Theists think that needing the promise of reward for doing good things, or the threat of punishment for doing bad things, makes them moral?

Surely if two people both do a good thing, if one of them does it because they think they will be rewarded, and the other does it because they believe its the right thing to do... surely the later is a much more moral person?

Right theists?

Update:

I really hope at least one theist will put my mind at ease by simply acknowledging this simple and obvious fact.

Update 2:

*please mentally replace the word 'needing' with 'having'.

and 'later' with 'latter'.

You have utterly failed to comprehend, no doubt to deliberately obscure the obvious, in a foolish attempt to justify yourself.

Your rather childish concept of reward and punishment is based only upon the Law.

The Law is not for the righteous but for the sinner. It is to give the knowledge of sin and can only find out breaches of the Law. It can do nothing else.

It cannot give the power not to sin, nor can it take away sin. And none can live by Law. Rather all are convicted by the Law of being sinners.

That you have moral awareness poves these things to you and gives you no excuse.

The whole point of the Law is to show you that you are a sinner.

The question you need to address therefore, is how can you be saved from your sin?
