I've got a locked drive on a Windows 7 machine - not put there by me - how do I open /transfer the files ?

Lock on all file in Pictures not put there by me - I can't change the file permissions or pull the files across with a mapped drive. I have tried every thing I can but no success. I can put a new HD in it and reinstall but that's not the object of the exercise.

Update:

Looks like some piece of software has encrypted the drive ???? Tried everything - system restores, defies all efforts. I have been doing Microsoft MCP MSCA MCITP courses for years and Cisco Network Pro - still totally stumped. Does not look like OS encryption - I am Sys Admin bla bla - WTF?

Boot Linux live veiw the pictures and save or delete them.

Go to disk Management in Windows and after you get the files delete the partition that's locked and re add the space or format the drive
