I have a question about the Netgear Wifi AC1750?

So I went to Best Buy today and purchased me the AC1750 wifi cable modem router and I have AT&T and only their phone and internet service provider... So did I just waste my money? Is it compatible with AT&T?

Since the "MODEM" in the unit is for cable internet service, you need to take it back!

ATT is DSL service NOT CABLE! No a "cable modem" is not compatible with ATT. If you get a "cable/dsl" NON modem router you can indeed connect to ATT's existing modem. The other option is to buy a dsl modem/router that is ATT compatible. IF you tell the nice people at Best Buy who you use they can help.

No you didn't "waste your money". Best Buy does allow you to return items. Just do it tomorrow or as soon as possible.

Well, that depends. It's just a router (and a really nice one at that). It's NOT a cable modem, so if you actually needed a cable modem, then you bought the wrong thing.
