How do you keep someone from remotely accessing your laptop and phone?

In the past a family member paraphrased a text I sent to someone else and email conversations I had. I know he could not have accessed my phone physically because its always on me. How else could he have read the text and how do I keep this from happening again?

And no the person i sent the text to would not share it with anyone. It was private matter and they don't know my family member

Like you said, you sent it to someone else. There's no mystery here.

"And no the person i sent the text to would not share it with anyone. It was private matter and they don't know my family member"

Then either your trust is misplaced, or you are wrong about your phone. Take your pick.
