'Inappropriate' behavior between me and my managers...? What do you think?

So where I work, I am in contact with my managers constantly, as it should be most places. Well, since we work together, we've become close. So my managers and I will high-five, pat each other on the back, fist bump, compliment each other, joke around with each other. But customers have complained to the store manager, saying that my direct managers are acting inappropriate towards the workers, even though it doesn't seem bad in any way. Do you think the way my managers act is inappropriate? I really find it nice that my managers are so personable with their workers.

It doesn't sound like it. As long as the employees recognize that they are subordinate to the managers. The customers aren't running the business and contrary to the saying 'the customer is always right", in my experience that isn't always true.

If the customers think it's inappropriate, then it almost certainly is. It could be that the comradely atmosphere you have going there comes across to them as 'they're having too much fun together to attend to their customers'. Also possible they they feel the degree of physical contact is inappropriate between staff and managers of different sexes.

It's a slightly different point, but it can be annoying to customers if staff are fooling around, high-fiving, joking, etc., while the customers are being served, or waiting to be served. I'd say that's inappropriate behaviour because it's unprofessional. You can do that behind the scenes, but not much in front of customers, please.

I think workers, all workers, managers and staff alike, should maintain a professional atmosphere. Acting like buddies by joking around and high fiving and having physical contact is seen as inappropriate by the customers, because, well, it IS inappropriate.

Act professionally and you will see that you will not get one complaint.

If customers are complaining then you need to stop doing it, That's pretty much all that matters.

I guess you will have to stop this as the customers have complained.

There is nout so queer as folk. I had a customer ask what an item was and I replied (I didn't put it there either)

She snapped what's it doing in my way?"

I said to my colleague "take over" and I walked away.

He told me she was furious at me walking off BUT other people had had a problem with her.

It's not inappropriate until the day you fist bump his penis.
