Why should chaplains not talk about God?

If I was going into battle, it would be nice to at best know, worst feel, like a divine force was protecting me. Why not ask the front line soldiers who may die soon about it, rather than a committee in Washington?

Chaplains are there to provide for the spiritual well being of Soldiers of their faith. The majority of COMBAT Soldiers want nothing to do with Chaplains.

As an actual front line Soldier, I would rather have an atheist by my side than a religious Soldier. I've seen Christian Soldiers curled in a ball praying to be saved and not doing a damn thing to save themselves in combat.

That is, indeed, a chaplain's job. People in all walks of life have need for spiritual counsel and comfort. Military deserve that access.
