Did Nasacort alleviate my cold symptoms or do I really just have winter allergies?

I know its meant for allergies. However, I tried using some a short while ago to help my cold and it feels like it at least eased my stuffy nose.

I assume its a cold anyway, I also had a sore throat and coughing.

Colds and allergies share a lot of symptoms, so something that treats allergy symptoms will probably treat those same symptoms in a cold.

In other words, it doesn't care whether your runny nose is from allergies or a cold.

[edit to add] Note that it's only treating the SYMPTOMS, not the cold itself.

if your phlegm has yellow in it, you've got an infection. if it's just really thick, you're getting there. if it's just clear, sticky or runny, it's just allergies. a stuffy/inflamed nose is common in allergies and in colds, so Nasacort likely would help alleviate some of it, but Sudafed is what will really make a difference. hope you feel better soon!
