How to rid cat of fleas? I've used topical treatments (the dab on the neck ones) for 12 months now and even had house professionally fumigated but it hasn't worked. I read fleas die off if it's cold enough so I've even avoided putting heating on to see if it makes a difference. Nothing seems to work! I'm out of ideas now and dreading summer when the fleas are back in strength.
My cat is a 12-year-old male tabby and has asthma so any products that could affect that are a no-go.

What kind of topical treatment are you using? If you bought it at a store, that may be the problem. See your vet for effective treatment.

pack your stuff in a bag,
look at each stuff as you bag them to make sure none is on it
then take your clothes and wash them after that bag them up too
seal the bag and take it in the car after all your stuff are in the car go to an hotel
and start looking for a new house to live in!
