Truck runs better on quarter tank.?

I have a 1998 Ford F-150 4.6 v8. It runs just fine but noticed when it s at quarter tank of gas it seems to have more horsepower thought if it at full tank it s supposed to run stronger. Only upgrades to the truck is cold air specter intake and glass pack muffler. Why would it run stronger on low fuel?

    Fuel quantity makes no difference to performance other than a lower fuel level is lighter

    It's lighter, that's the only difference.
