Why does current decrease at a decreasing rate the more resistors you add to a series circuit?

If i add a resistor (filament bulb to be exact) to a series circuit, the current decreases. If i add another bulb, the current decreases but less of an effect on the current. If i add more then the current decreases at a decreasing rate. Why is this. I kind of understand it but I cant word it properly.

Resistor is something that resists the flow of current. Suppose you are in a street and a boy will stop you reach the end. You'll face one boy and would reach there early. Now we have 2 boys now, you'll need more time and if we continue increasing a time would come that you would never ever reach the corner. So resistors resist flow of current and adding more resistance decreases current in the series circuit.
