Who will lead Syria after the civil war has ended?

The European Union and U.S. prefer that President Assad voluntarily step down from office. I am skeptical that he will do so but, in the event he does step down, who would fill the power vacuum?

    He ain't stepping down. Russia and Iran will make sure of that.

    I believe Syria will be partitioned with Turkey controlling a part near its border, Syria w/Assad in the north until some elections. Good question as to what or who would be elected.
