Should the NFL ditch the Pro Bowl?

This year's Pro Bowl was basically a bore fest. It wasn't the worst game ever, but it was beyond obvious that the players just weren't into it at all. With the stakes so low (essentially nothing) and the risk of injury so high, it has to be hard for players to want to compete in a way that it anything more than marginally entertaining. Yes, joining the ranks as a Pro Bowl player certainly adds some value to a players stock, but that's about all the game has going for it at the moment.

What do you think? Should the NFL drop the Pro Bowl? If not should they make changes? If so should it be replaced by something else?

They should make more incentive to the game with NFC or Afc getting top pics in the 3rd or 4th round. It is meaningless though and scary to loose a franchise player due to a game that literally means nothing and honestly never can or will. Don't get me wrong I don't want it trashed though I am still a watcher.

Why would you care unless you're so obsessed with football and that obsession forces you to watch it every year? You don't know how to use the TV remote?

Yes, it should have been dropped years ago.

I'd say the NBA and NHL have the best All-Star games, with the NFL way below. The NHL came up with a way to make the game better with teh new tournament format. So what could the NFL do? The captains and picking teams didn't do anything for me. So how about instead they go a new direction? Let's have the back-ups and practice squad players take up the roster in most positions(I get kickers and punters will still probably need to be starters, and fine with the lineman being the names). This way you get players that are trying to get noticed and playing harder.

Why? Honestly, the real issue is with the fans who are expecting a real football game from a meaningless exhibition. The NBA all star game is just players having fun, not taking it seriously for the most part and you don't hear an outcry for the NBA to get rid of the game. Just accept it for what it is, a meaningless game. Or you'll end up being like the MLB who tried to add an incentive to their meaningless game and ended up alienating their fans as well.
