GS, how do you feel about shows in which the protagonist arranges violence against an abusive partner?

Movies such as "Enough" feature a victim of abuse that engineers a plot to kill her rich ex-husband in order to gain custody of her child. I can't recall all the details, but after he wins custody and is acquitted of abuse charges, the protagonist devises a method to provoke him into attacking her, and then kills him once attacked.

Do you view such stories as empowering, or do these send a negative message to viewers?

The justice system plays a great part in protecting our society and it's citizens and ensuring a degree of order.

But when the JUSTICE system fails to provide justice, as is the case in this story, I do believing it is a lot more dignified to take it yourself than to stand and tolerate your abuser take whatever they want.

Is it empowering? No. Is it right? No. But it's still better than doing nothing. Empowering would be to be more persistent withing the bounds of the justice system. Making an effort to decrease corruption, change policies, expose the man once and for all, etc. That's empowering.

    It's a movie. Fantasy. A story.

It could add more drama to the show. Should be okay for the audience if they want someone who's not always a good guy in the show

Justice is a good thing. Murder is a bad thing. Abuse is a bad thing. That's how I feel.
