Should I start selling photos of buses and traffic lights to Captcha?
8 AnswersTrivia2 years agoGS, how do you feel about shows in which the protagonist arranges violence against an abusive partner?
Movies such as "Enough" feature a victim of abuse that engineers a plot to kill her rich ex-husband in order to gain custody of her child. I can't recall all the details, but after he wins custody and is acquitted of abuse charges, the protagonist devises a method to provoke him into attacking her, and then kills him once attacked.
Do you view such stories as empowering, or do these send a negative message to viewers?
5 AnswersGender Studies4 years agoMen and women: Have you ever shaved with a safety razor?
Safety razors are the old-fashioned razors that use a single, double-edged blade. I've been them in my shop for the past week, and I recently used one for the first time. I was impressed!
I'd like to know more about the process, and about your experiences. Do you use a classic shave soap and a shaving brush, do you use a modern aerosol shaving cream, or do you use a different product? Please describe your setup and your results.

Is it a random part each time, or is it the same part? Are there any repeats? If it's random, how many times do you think you need to receive the Eucharist in order to have consumed Jesus's entire body?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 years agoTexas CHL proficiency test gun for my girlfriend?
My girlfriend will be testing to get her concealed carry license in the next few months. When I got my CHL, I was required to pass the shooting proficiency portion with a hangun of .32 caliber or greater. A semi-automatic or a revolver could be used, but using a revolver resulted in a license that was only valid for revolvers; testing with a semi-automatic allowed the licensee to carry a semi-automatic or a revolver. I have been told that this has changed, and applicants can now test with revolvers or with semi-automatics as they prefer.
Here is the issue: My girlfriend has a medical issue, and cannot pronate her hands. That is, her wrists will not rotate so that her palms can face upward. Because of this, she has difficulty racking and operating semi-autos. Additionally, this makes her less tolerant of recoil.
Can she now test with a revolver, and receive full CHL privileges? Have the minimum caliber requirements changed? I have a couple of .38s that I can load with low-recoil ammunition that would probably get her through the test, if that will now fully satisfy requirements. Any recommendations on daily carry guns for her?
3 AnswersHunting5 years agoShould I get a .45 LC or a .357 magnum?
In the next month or two, I'm going to be buying a single-action revolver. The revolver is purely for recreation: target shooting, and possibly cowboy action shooting down the road.
I've identified the model I want, but it is available in .45 LC and .357 magnum. The .45 is, to me, more "cowboy," which is part of the appeal of the gun. On the other hand, I have another .357 mag, and a .38 special, so that is a consideration.
I don't need a wide variety of ammo available, as this will not be used for hunting or self defense. Which would you choose?
31 AnswersHunting5 years agoCan we just drop the term feminist once and for all?
The word has become so distorted and misused that it is essentially meaningless. The person that favors equality between the genders is a feminist. The angry man-hating woman is a feminist. The guy that blackens his girlfriend's eye because he wouldn't take that kind of treatment from a man either is a feminist. Can we just find more accurate terms for these things so people know what we're talking about?
10 AnswersGender Studies5 years agoI need advice on a smart mirror to replace my rearview mirror. Can anyone help?
I am looking to replace my vehicle's rearview mirror with a rearview mirror that has a camera and DVR function built-in. Navigation, Bluetooth, etc are fine, but the DVR function is what I really care about. I do NOT want a goofy thing that clips onto the existing mirror; I want to REPLACE the mirror with the new device. Does anybody have any recommendations? Please only answer if you have personal experience.
1 AnswerCar Audio5 years agoFor how many election cycles have you heard that, if ______ wins, it will destroy the country?
I'm getting a bit tired of hearing about which candidate will "destroy America." Can we come up with a new way to express our dislike of a particular candidate? According to what I've heard, America has been destroyed anew every election cycle for most of my life.
