Typically the metal in the necklace will be worth more than the CZ stones. It should tell you something that they are willing to cut the price by 50% and still make a good profit. I suggest you save for real diamonds.

Cubic zirconia is extremely rubbish quality. ALL of it, no matter what brand. It isn't worth more than a few dollars a piece at most but they mark it up because they know people will fall for it when they say its a new cz or a stronger one. It's not. It'll cloud up and look dirty after very limited use. It'll never look new or nice again. You'll end up tossing it and regret getting conned out of $500 - $1000.
If you can't afford diamonds, look into Moissanite. It truly will never ever crack, cloud up, change color, or look dirty. It is a fraction of the cost of diamonds and almost as hard on a mohs scale. It has more fire and brilliance, and the new generation like the forever one is truly 100% colorless. It also has a very unique story as it originates from literal stardust!
White sapphire is also nice and smarter option.
As are truely lab created (NOT cz posing as them) diamonds. I'd only get one from a trustable dealer like brilliant earth, blue nile, etc with a certificate and proof they are lab created diamonds and not cz. I'd go this route when they have a sale as it would be the priciest yet still more affordable than a mined diamond.
