How can I recover some files from an old computer?

I have an old computer that died on me a few weeks ago. The screen died and some of the hardware went bad but the hard drive is still intact. I have another computer but I want to know how I can upload the files from the old hard drive to a new computer (or Microsoft OneDrive, which would be even better).

Connect the hard drive to the new computer. If they are both desktops then you should have everything you need Just take the drive out of the olde computer along with it's connection cable. If just the new one is a desktop you may need to come up with a sata cable that you might have to barrow from the CD drive in the new PC. But the easiest thing to do is by a sata to usb adapter, which comes in a few forms. From an entire enclosure to just the bare adapters and power supply.

Easy way is to take out the hard drive and use a USB enclosure to read the data from the old drive into the new computer.

Simple - buy or borrow and IDE or SATA to USB converter (cost about $20.00), remove the drive from the old computer and connect it using the kit to the new one.
