If I buy something before money is in my account, what happens?
Say I have $50 in my account on Saturday, and I know I'll be getting a paycheck in the bank on Monday, but I order something that costs $60 today. When does the payment clear?
4 AnswersPersonal Finance1 year agoFinding minimum value of x on an interval?
Within the interval (-2.63, 3.65), for what value of x does f(x) take on a minimum if
f(x)= −3.4*sin(x) + 1.9*cos(x)?
I know to take the derivative, set it equal to zero, and solve for x - I divided both sides by cos(x) to get a tan(x) and to cancel the other cos(x).
Now I have tan(x) = -3.4/1.9, or -34/19. I can take the inverse tangent, but there are an infinite number of answers to that function. That's where the interval comes in, but I'm not sure how many times I need to add 2*pi for the period, because it said it was wrong when I did that before.
Anyone see what I did wrong?
2 AnswersMathematics2 years agoLG G6 repair?
The rear panel on my LG G6 broke, and while the front glass is intact, the screen no longer responds to touch.
Is this possible to self-repair, or am I better off paying a professional (or buying a new phone)?
2 AnswersCell Phones & Plans2 years agoDo schools not allow former students to visit anymore?
Maybe it s weird to return to your high school less than a year after graduating, but I was told by the front desk that they can t allow non-students, including former students, in under any circumstances during the school day (even if I had previously called a teacher to arrange a visit).
2 AnswersPrimary & Secondary Education2 years agoHow do I use the limit definition of derivative to calculate the following?
The question is "Use the definition of the derivative (that is, the limit process) to find the derivative of:
f(x) =1/(√(3−x)
or
f(x) =1/((3-x)^1/2)
I know the limit definition of a derivative is f(x+h)-f(x)/h when h approaches zero, but applying this technique to that equation yields an impossibly large cluster of variables (which is not the answer).
4 AnswersMathematics2 years agoHow do I cite this in MLA citation?
I'm citing the Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations in a report on economics I'm doing. Here's my issue - the book I have in hand is a 3rd edition. It's the University of Chicago version with the 1976 preface by George Stigler, and the 1904 Introduction, Notes, Marginal Summary and Index by Edwin Cannan.
Am I supposed to cite the entire piece by all the authors or only Adam Smith, if that's the pieces of the book I'm using?
1 AnswerHomework Help3 years agoWhat minors go well with an economics major?
I'm a high school senior, and next year I'm going to college to major in Economics. I've been told adding a minor to my resume would be a smart investment, and I've looked for possibilities at my schools of interest.
My top current considerations are law, political science and philosophy.
2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)4 years agoDo you get your picture taken for your license the same day as the test (Pennsylvania)?
I'm taking my driver's test on June 9, and on June 11 I may be going on vacation for a while and I want to know if I can get my picture taken the same day.
3 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation4 years agoIs this a touchdown pass or run?
If the quarterback throws over the middle to a receiver, who gets tackled by laterals the ball to another player (possibly a tight end) behind them and they score, how is it scored? I don't think it would be a rushing TD because the ball was in front of the line of scrimmage, but the same argument could be made for a pass.
I get this is a fairly common play (as far as trick plays go), but I never really paid attention to how they score it.
6 AnswersFootball (American)4 years agoHow do I get my computer to turn back on?
The other day I opened my laptop to see what was in it, and when I closed it the speakers didn't work. So today I opened it and tried to figure out the problem with that, and now my computer won't turn on at all.
Is it best to leave to a professional?
1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks4 years agoWho names these minor league baseball teams?
Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp- Marlins
Binghamton Rumble Ponies- Mets (formerly the Binghamton Mets, I used to go to some of their games, no clue why they changed the name)
Richmond Flying Squirrels- Giants
Lansing Lugnuts- Blue Jays
And a personal favorite: New Orleans Baby Cakes- Marlins as well (seems they're a fan of these names)
4 AnswersBaseball4 years agoHow can I recover some files from an old computer?
I have an old computer that died on me a few weeks ago. The screen died and some of the hardware went bad but the hard drive is still intact. I have another computer but I want to know how I can upload the files from the old hard drive to a new computer (or Microsoft OneDrive, which would be even better).

As a Mets fan seeing that guy was a real treat even if he was a thorn in their side. I remember his first homer against the Braves in 2013.
4 AnswersBaseball5 years agoWhy do some sites have popups, even with software?
I have Adblock Plus enabled, as well as the stock feature on Firefox to disable popups. Yet when I go on some sites, first it will say "Firefox prevented this site from opening 76 popup windows" (not kidding, it was that many", and then 2 or 3 will come up and I'll have to close those and the website so it doesn't happen again.
I already scanned my computer for viruses. Nothing.
3 AnswersOther - Internet5 years agoMy default browser is Firefox, but Cortana always opens Microsoft edge?
I have a Windows 10 laptop. I use Mozilla Firefox as my default browser, but if I ever ask Cortana to open something (which is rarely do) she opens it in Microsoft Edge.
I'm assuming this is a Microsoft thing, wanting to push their bug-filled browser on everyone, or is it a bigger problem?
2 AnswersSoftware5 years agoWebsite says "your phone may be infected by virus!"?
On my Motorola Droid Turbo 2 that I just got on Wednesday, I was surfing the web on Chrome when I clicked on a website that triggered a popup.
"Your phone may be infected by virus caused by visits to recent adult sites!" I have not looked up any pornography on this phone or any phone, so that wasn't right. I've seen this type of thing before, so I swiped up and clicked out of the browser.
I was sure it was malware or an ad for an antivirus app containing malware, but does anyone else know?
P.S. It had a picture of the android droid holding a wrench, if that helps.

If you look closely into the headlights of a car, you'll see a series of numbers. Is it the VIN or something else.
