He's catering to his base, and if one of those crazy people shoot him or his family he'll change it again. Everything is filtered through that one lens. "What's good for me'' might be the family motto.

He does not understand that the mentally ill are the cause of this terrorism. He wants to blame Muslims but it's American born, mentally unstable people killing people in these attacks. I do not believe he has the depth of intellect to understand that this is exactly the people who should not have any access to guns. I have talked to Super right wing gun owners about the banning or registration of guns and when asked if the mentally ill should be forbidden to have guns even they think that is a great idea. They are just afraid any gun ban will lead to confiscation of guns, which is not only impossible but not even on anyone's radar.

Actually I think it is a way for him to arm half his supporters!
