do christian scientists think the biblical earth creation was metaphorical?

If the Holy Scriptures were, as atheists say, written by a bunch of uneducated goat herders, then how do you explain that thousands of years ago these uneducated men knew the progress of how life would appear on the earth, knew the water cycle, that star differed from star, the earth hung upon nothing, and that body wasted should be buried.
