Malta is lovely. Lots of history and friendly people. Easy to get around. If you are looking for relaxing then visit the island of Gozo. You can catch the ferry over and take your car with you if you hire one.

A cheap roundtrip to Malta from Los Angeles costs a bit more than $1,000 (air ticket only) in low season.

There are no direct flights from Los Angeles and the cheapest flights are with airlines such as KLM, Air France, and British Airways (about 15 hours). Flights from Turkish airlines last usually too much time (more than 30 hours) since they have a stopover in Istanbul. The American airlines don't serve directly Malta.

Malta is a nice (small) island country. It offers mainly cultural and natural attractions. Europe has several destinations that offers similar or more attractions.

Get yourself a guidebook to Malta, or have a look at the Maltese tourist website, and you'll have all your questions answered - except for the women. As you will be in Malta as a tourist, do not expect the local women to be the slightest bit interested in you.
