Trig help?

I'm doing an antiderivative of an inverse trig function and I'm stuck on this one part.

If tan-theta=7x/z, does 7x*tan-theta=1/z?

    tan-theta meant tan(theta) to me

By tan-theta do you mean tan^-1 (Θ), inverse tan theta? Then you could divide both sides by 7x getting

    tan^-1 Θ / (7x) = 1/z

but that's probably not what you meant...
