GTX 110's series?

Since the GTX 1080 TI is coming out in March will the 110's series be released anytime this year?

I've heard a few rumors of a "Pascal refresh" that will supposedly come out in about 8-10 months and be the GTX 2000 series. The next major release though will be Volta in summer 2018.

It's possible to see it by the end of the year but I seriously doubt it. I figure between January and March of next year.

Perhaps the only way you'd see it by the end of the year is if AMD's Vega cards are a smash hit. Nvidia has never, ever been able to accept having the number 2 card, (see the GTX 480 and GTX 780ti) so their NvidEgo would be in a rush to release the next generation of cards.

From what I understand, Nvidia will likely call the cards the 2000 series, i.e. GTX 2080.

But what about other rumors? Months ago I heard the GTX 2000 cards will be a Pascal refresh. Now I'm hearing that it will be a 12nm or 10nm Volta card. Again, there are factors such as Chip yields, how good AMD's parts are, and the refinement of Volta to consider. IMO, Volta had better be able to do a lot better job with the DX12 api than Maxwell and Pascal.

So you can buy a GTX 1080ti and rest assured that you will probably have the best card for 10 months. I don't expect AMD's Vega 10 to be much better than the GTX 1080.

Nvidia is already working on their next GPU, codenamed "Volta". Based on their usual gap between lines, we probably won t see a Volta-based card until 2018.
