Can you help me please ?

Five year old Jamie loves dogs. Unfortunately, one day Jamie was bitten by his grandparents' dog. Now, Jamie fears all dogs, not just his grandparents' dog. Explain this in terms of classical conditioning. What is Jamie associating with dogs? What is his new learned behavior? Be sure to also discuss generalization.

Woah, too deep for me. All I can say is it's a pity he was bitten by any dog (how did that happen - circumstances?) but if you sit down and take the time to talk to him about what happened, why and how he can avoid it happening again, he should understand and lose the fear of dogs he now has. All too often I've seen parents reacting to even seeing a dog on the street, instilling unnecessary fear in their kids which is very sad. It's up to YOU to help him understand that by no means are all dogs to be feared, just respected so he doesn't pile into a strange dog. It would be very sad if he remains fearful of all dogs on the basis of one occasion that he was bitten. And it would depend on the circumstances there too.
