Is it okay for a 14 year old to do abdominal workouts?

My mom told me that if I do ab workouts at a young age, I wouldn't grow taller, please help me.

    i'm sorry but you're mum's wrong about that. but i'll tell u, if u want to build up your abs then chin ups are the best. if u could do at least a couple of sets of say 10 to 15 a day u would start to see some definition in about 3 weeks.

    That is a myth. You will be fine.

    I started working out (weight lifting, ab workouts, cardio, etc) when I was 13 and I am 6'-2". People told me the same thing when I was doing that stuff at that age.
