Do you think vetting should have been used during the 19th century on the Irish/Italians?

Since the US was founded as an English colony and reflects English values, such as the Constitution being based upon common law/English constitution. The US was also founded as a Protestant country not a Catholic

A lot of the Irish came during the potato famine, which the English were partially responsible and you could have never known their motives to attack a former English colony.

The US official motto "e pluribus unum" is written Roman Latin. It's the same language that the Roman Catholic church still uses. It's the same Rome that's still located in Italy.

The founding fathers said we no longer want to be British in the declaration of independence.

They also said very clearly that we want to leave religion out of things in the US constitution.

You obviously don't believe in American values.

There were laws created to harass, discourage, and impede their entry.

Some immigrant groups (Asians) faced more extreme vetting.

What is "vetting?" It's to make a careful & critical examination of something or someone in order to help determine suitability for (something).
