Several years ago I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression, and was put on antidepressants and got therapy for it. Since then I've been able to get off the antidepressants and feel much better.

In the therapy, we were able to figure out what was causing my anxiety and depression - it was triggered by a severe (fatal) auto accident I was in five years before the depression showed up. Once we identified that, I was able to deal with it, and get it resolved.

It's good for stress related depression. It's like having a human version of a personal journal. I don't find it effective for some people with ADHD because you won't really remember what you learned.

You can't recover from some depressions. This question is way too broad and on a oft misunderstood subject.

To most, depression is feeling sad.

Clinical depression or depressive disorders is/are persistent, often life-long.

CBT treats both types of depression. For some there is no cure.
