What were Joseph Campbell's religious beliefs?

it would appear that Joseph Campbell had a keen awareness that there was a "creator"

but there is no strong or available evidence which places him into a defined system of belief.

His works were based in several lodges of acceptance,

but religion doesn't appear to be something that he, himself, required.
