Changed Pitman arm on 1995 Tahoe 4x4. Now steering wheel is off 1/4 turn?

After changing pitman arm, and put steering column back together the steering wheel is off by 1/4 turn. Pitman arm was marked and new one placed correctly. What else could cause this. What is the fix?

The pitman arm goes on only one way, so it must have been pretty worn to make the new one seem 1/4 turn off.

Did you put the steering column back together exactly the way it came apart ? You probably did, so get an alignment, it needs it anyways, and all will be good.

Pull the new one off and compare the the index key location to your old one, I think you bought the wrong one. You can probably see the index by just removing the nut.
