Are Smart Tv s compatible with bluetooth wireless tv sound bars?

I have a Vizio smart tv, and am interested in buying a sound bar for it, it says it s wireless via bluetooth or something. Are smart tvs compatible with this type of thing?

    no, No, NO.

    The Bluetooth connectivity is so you can play music from your smart phone or tablet.

    HDTV sound is based on Dolby 5.1.

    Bluetooth is stereo or 2.0 only.

    You want a soundbar that accepts an optical connection from your HDTV. Make sure the sound bar is a 5.0 or 5.1. (There are many cheaper STEREO units for older standard def systems.) An optional wireless subwoofer is nice. Being able to connect smart phones & tablets is gravy.

    Most new smart TVs have Bluetooth for wireless speakers and headphones. Sounds like your Vizio has it.

    Some are and some aren't.

    Try reading the manual for the TV.
