Making balsamic vinegar chicken wings?

I am going to cook this for dinner. However, can I use a baking sheet if I do not have the rack? Maybe a baking sheet with foil?

definitely cover the baking sheet with foil!! but do you have a rack that came with your stove? the broiler tray? it works great as a rack for stuff like this even if you bake it.

The purpose of the rack is to keep the meat OUT of the juices that come out during the baking.

Don't make the wings for dinner tonight . .not until yo either have a rack OR buy a silpat insert that has little pyramids in it that keep the chicken out of its juices.

Alternatively ... IF you have a cooling rack (like what you cool backed goods on), and IF it fits OVER the edges of a baking dish that is large enough .. you COULD use that.

I have a lot of various equipment, but no cooling rack big enough to fit on top of a 9x13 baking dish. Perhaps you do.

The rack is to keep the wings out of the juice so they get crispy.

If its usually cooked on a rack over a baking tray, perhaps you could use a rack from the broiller, it should sit on a tray and it should do the job nicely.
