Why don't husbands respect their wives? And men respect women? Why are Christian men, not really following the commands?

Why cherry pick the bible when Chrsitinaity is the most misogynistic religion?!

Gen 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow, thou shalt bring forth children and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

Ephesians 5:22 - 24:

22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.

24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Corinthians 14:34-35.

34 women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says.

35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

1Ti 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

1Ti 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

That scripture says husbands are to LOVE their wives and wives are to submit to the headship of their husband. Men need to feel respected and useful, whereas women need to feel loved and cherished. It has always been thus.

Matthew Henry wrote: “It has been said that Eve was not taken from Adam’s head to lord it over him, nor from his feet to be trodden underfoot, but from his side to be equal with him and from under his arm to be protected by him.”

That's the way God meant it to be.

I do respect my wife. I admire her and in many aspect, wish I could be more patient, more tolerant, more thoughtful and more compassionate, like she is.

you forgot the passage about women being quiet in church..(it's in there) or the part where you have to ask your husband to learn something because that's in there also...the bible treats women like property,still don't know why women would worship a god that thinks they are property.

Well, I have found women have changed, maybe it's just me, but I've noticed that they can be very hard to impress, when in reality, they haven't got that much to offer in return. You want me to work my whole life, to feed you and your children, when you won't even have sex with me in the way I want, or when I want, and then after children, you don't even want to do it anymore? Why on earth would I ever marry anyone?

I am not a Christian, but I do respect and adore my wonderful wife of 33 years. <3

Do you seriously need a religious book to tell you to do that?????
