Can I stop taking Zoloft? Quick need answers tonight?

I started taking Zoloft on Thursday. I took half a 50mg tab the first four days and today (day 5) I took a full one. I'm having second thoughts and want to stop but don't know if I have to wean myself off since it has only been a few days. I emailed my doctor the other day and she said I could stop because I had only been taking half a pill, but today I took a full one. Is it too late now?

Go back to half a pill for the next couple of doses. You will need to wean yourself off it. Your best bet is to contact your doctor again and tell her about the dose, she will be able to advise. You should never just stop taking medication - especially something like Zoloft which alters the bodies chemicals. But you haven't been taking it too long so coming off it shouldn't be a problem. If in doubt, always speak to your GP.
