Is it normal to leave the toilet seat down in Spain?
3 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups3 years agoShould I buy a one way or roundtrip plane ticket?
I'm going to Spain in the end of August 2018 until July 2019. I was planning on buying a roundtrip ticket, but the websites are only showing flights up until May 2019. Would it be cheaper to wait and buy both tickets together, or buy 2 one way tickets?
I'm concerned that by the time the July 2019 tickets become available, it will be too close to my departure date and the tickets will be expensive.
5 AnswersAir Travel3 years agoShould I be concerned about infrequent hallucinations?
I've been seeing things that aren't there for about a year now, maybe once every 3 weeks. Usually it's an animal, bug, and a person one time. It looks completely real at the time but disappears a few seconds later. Earlier in the year I was being treated for depression so I'm not sure if it's related. I have a doctor's appointment this week and was going to mention it, but thought I might get another opinion here because I'm really curious
3 AnswersMental Health3 years agoDo you need quotations for a common phrase?
I'm writing about a policy that would arm teachers with guns and will say how some people believe that a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun. I wouldn't personally phrase it this way, but I only will simply because that's how I commonly see it online and elsewhere. Would I need to use quotations?
2 AnswersQuotations3 years agoWater damage to my mac - works plugged in?
I spilled water on my mac and after having it dry for four days, it's working. It only works when the battery is charging. When I unplug it, it turns off. I have to restart the date/time when it turns back on. I really only need it for another month or so to finish off the semester - am I damaging it more if I continue to use it like this? I called Apple and they said I should replace the battery but I'm not sure if that's genuine or they just want me to buy a battery. There's no Apple store around me.
2 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks3 years agoGift ideas for my internship?
This Tuesday will be my last day at my internship and I would like to get something for the people I work with to show my appreciation. I mainly work with 5 other people in the HR office for a school district, so I'm not sure if I should get something for each of them or maybe something to have in the office. Any ideas?
4 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment4 years agoHow should I write this on my resume?
I'm interning with the HR department for a school district this summer. They also send me to work at summer school for half of the day, which is a completely different set of responsibilities, but it's still part of my internship. On my resume, would I be able to have them as two separate categories, or should I just keep summer school as a responsibility of my internship?
I just have so much to say for summer school that I feel it makes sense to have it be separate, but I don't know if that's misleading, which I'm not trying to be.
3 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment4 years agoWill my period always fall on my birthday?
I take birth control and get my period at the same time each month, which lasts for three days (usually Tues-Thurs). If I will have it on my birthday this year, does that mean that it will always be on my birthday for as long as I'm taking birth control? I can't remember if it did last year but I'm just trying to decide if I should skip it or not.
2 AnswersWomen's Health4 years agoShould I tell my doctor about medications I don't take anymore?
While I was away at school, I was prescribed Zoloft and a few other medications that I took for a month or so. I have a physical coming up soon with my regular doctor at home, and I know they usually ask if I'm on any medication. Should I still mention Zoloft even though it was temporary and I don't take it anymore?
1 AnswerMedicine4 years agoCan I get my period early on birth control?
Can I force my period to come early while on birth control? I know I can skip it entirely, but can I make it earlier, or possibly delay it one week? I'm not sexually active now so that's not a concern, I just don't really want it on my birthday.
3 AnswersWomen's Health4 years agoChecking everyone's ID when purchasing alcohol?
I live in PA and twice now I have gone to buy alcohol with my friends while some of us were 20 and the others were 21. The 21 year old was buying, but the cashier still asked everyone to see their ID, which I can understand. My question is, if we all left and only those that are 21 came back 10 or so minutes later, could they still deny them? What about a few hours? The next day?
Also, what are your thoughts on this law/policy? It's not really stopping underage drinking, just telling people to go to another store and wait in the car in my mind.
6 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits4 years agoCan I say this on my resume?
I've been working on and off with the company that my mom works for on an as-needed basis. I would only do a few small things per year, and hadn't done anything with them in about 2 years now. They just asked me to work at a conference for them, so on my resume, would it be accurate to say I still work there? Say I started in 2012; could I say 2012 - present? I'm asking because I never really stopped working there, they just hadn't needed me for anything, but I was always available. If not, what's the best way to write this?
2 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment4 years agoWhat happens if you break your lease?
I'm not allowed to sublet my apartment, but I was going to let my friend sublet (I'd pay the landlord, my friend would pay me). I'm in college, but the lease ends in August, so I need someone to stay there. My roommate threatened to report me because we had past issues. What could happen if she does? She has broken the lease multiple times (smoking weed, throwing parties, etc.) so I threatened to report her for that. Also, our other roommate is subletting too, so I threatened to report her as well. She's only doing me because of something unrelated. I don't know if she will now, but what would happen? The landlord is still receiving all payments in full and on time. Also, they know that students sublet during the summer all the time, it's just not actually allowed.
7 AnswersRenting & Real Estate4 years agoCan I report a craigslist scam?
Someone from another country pretended to sublet my apartment for the summer and sent me a fake cashiers check. I was aware of the scam before, so didn't do anything with the check. Is there a way to report them, or anything that could actually be done since they're in a foreign country? I asked the local police and they said they can't do anything, but it there something else?
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics4 years agoI was excused from jury duty?
I was excused from jury duty, I'm assuming because I said I was a full time student. However, the date that I was selected for would be during my summer break (and I said that on the form). I actually really wanted to go - is it possible for me to be unexcused, or is that like a final decision? Jury selection date was at the very beginning of summer break, so I assumed even if selected, the trial would take place over break as well. If I call, would there be any chance of being allowed to go, or is that useless?
5 AnswersCivic Participation4 years agoHow much alcohol can you drink on Zoloft?
I'm a student and my therapist said that you're not really supposed to drink while on Zoloft, but knows that people still do and said it's fine it it's just a little. She didn't really say much other than that, and I didn't ask because I generally don't drink anyways. Does anyone have more of an idea on exactly how much I can drink? She said it would affect you quicker, but would I just be really drunk or like is it actually a safety thing (other than just being too drunk)?
Also, I'm not worried about my symptoms getting worse because they're all gone now, I'm about to wean off Zoloft in a week so it's not a concern. Just don't want to die pretty much.
So like how many shots could you take and still be fine? I'm a girl, 5'2 and 105lbs, but I have a higher alcohol tolerance than I should considering my height/weight.
2 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits4 years agoAm I still considered a full time college student during summer break?
I got summoned for jury duty in late May. I will be on summer break during that time, so would I answer no for being a full time student? Also, I guess it just varies everywhere but it didn't say on the form - is it likely that, if selected, the trial would happen relatively soon after? As in, it would happen before the fall semester starts in late August?
3 AnswersCivic Participation4 years agoWill I get a bill if the ambulance didn't take me to the hospital?
I threw up and someone called an ambulance. All they really did was taking my blood pressure and ask me questions. They didn't take me anywhere and I never even went inside the ambulance. Will I still get charged? They asked for my address and ID so that's why I'm concerned but I didn't even want/need their help.
1 AnswerMedicine4 years agoCan I stop taking Zoloft? Quick need answers tonight?
I started taking Zoloft on Thursday. I took half a 50mg tab the first four days and today (day 5) I took a full one. I'm having second thoughts and want to stop but don't know if I have to wean myself off since it has only been a few days. I emailed my doctor the other day and she said I could stop because I had only been taking half a pill, but today I took a full one. Is it too late now?
1 AnswerMedicine4 years agoHow to ask about a letter of recommendation?
I asked my old professor for a letter of recommendation about 2 weeks ago, and he said he'd have it done in about a few days or a week (it's not actually due until March 1st). I'm going to his office hours for another reason tomorrow, and was wondering if I should ask about it. There's still time, I'm just concerned because he said he would finish a while ago and I'm nervous he possibly forgot. Should I ask about it? If so, do you have a recommendation on how to politely ask and not seem rushed?
