Is it normal to leave the toilet seat down in Spain?
I'm in Spain living with Spanish roommates (we're all female) and I've noticed the toilet lid* (lid, not seat) is always down. Is this normal in Spain or Europe? I have a habit of leaving it up, but don't want to be disrespectful.

Aren't you always suppose to leave it down no matter which country you're in? I believe crap particles blows up into the air (on to you) when you flush. So every time you finish doing your business, put the lid down then flush.

It's always a good idea. You never know what could crawl up it.
