Can I say this on my resume?

I've been working on and off with the company that my mom works for on an as-needed basis. I would only do a few small things per year, and hadn't done anything with them in about 2 years now. They just asked me to work at a conference for them, so on my resume, would it be accurate to say I still work there? Say I started in 2012; could I say 2012 - present? I'm asking because I never really stopped working there, they just hadn't needed me for anything, but I was always available. If not, what's the best way to write this?

if that's the only "work" or company you have worked for, then forget it - you don't have a resume !! all you can do is submit apps

That would be misleading. Periodic projects at ABC company from 2012 to present.
