Introducing a new puppy to shy dog?

My current dog is very shy with dogs and people outside of the house. Once she gets to know a person inside the home though, she is the friendliest thing on the planet. We're getting a new puppy in the fall! How do we go about introducing it to her so she has good feelings about it? I don't want her to be scared of the tiny ball of fluff lol

Before you get the puppy get some of its scent on toys or blankets and scatter them around your house so your current dog will get used to the scent before the puppy arrives.

also when introducing them do it slowly allowing your shy dog to sniff the new puppy and become familiar with her try putting a lead on the puppy or both to introduce them.

When you see that they are getting along alright let them off their leads to get to know each other more.

Over a few days your shy dog will warm up to the pup.

Good luck with your new puppy hope everything works out :)
