    Your Web browser. The mainstream Web browsers all allow helper plug-ins to play videos from Web sites that offer videos for viewing. And, for the most part, they're all preconfigured with those helper plug-ins to just work automatically with no (or very little) end-user intervention or configuration.

    Of, if you know the URL of a video, you can use the VLC Media Player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html) to open the video stream from that URL.
