What does marriage really mean?

People can co-habitate for years...so why get married...other than the obvious religious reasons?

hmm...think..different people..different feelings..as they know, what is right and what feels

    right,to them...as a piece of paper,does not marriage make..love does,and this happens long

before the decision to,marry..that being said..Marriage ..these words,I personally hear..its that

    relation,between a man and a woman,in which independence is equal..the dependence mutual..

and the obligation..reciprocal..think with that intensity..of that love..and,together they will do great

    things..

Being divorced not so long ago..after being married, many years,,this wee difficult for me..to put

into proper words.,but, accept the challenge..if nothing more then to prove to myself, marrying the

wrong person..does not mean I sour myself,to marriages..and to all they do or are suppose to mean..

as love should never be so sharped eyed..because love is not made by magnifying glasses..Success

in marriage is more then finding the right person, its being with the right person..

I think..the happiest marriages..take place gradually..and go on deepening..all through their life together..and,not just measured..by how much you touch each other, but how many times, you reach

    each other..

I will just say this to conclude..a successful..relationship..on to marriage..requires..falling in love many

    times......Always,with the same person.~*

Legal and financial benefits. Plus it's the ultimate commitment. And I personally didn't want kids out of wedlock

i dunno. its an outdated traditional practice. couples in the u.s. arent really getting married these days. so... i think it will die off eventually as the rest of the world becomes more westernized.
