Are there stories like the Tower of Babel...?

In other religions or myths or folklore?

The other accounts give no proof of an earlier tower, from which the Hebrews might have formed the Genesis account. In the 6th century B.C., thousands of years after the Genesis story, Nebuchadnezzar wrote that the original tower had been built in antiquity: "A former king built the Temple of the Seven Lights of the Earth, but he did not complete its head. Since a remote time, people had abandoned it, without order expressing their words." He rebuilt it.

Some will claim that the Jews held in captivity in Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar, would have cribbed the story from there, but they already had their sacred scriptures way before the captivity, including the first five books, one of which contains the tower of Babel account.

So although there are legends in other nations that sound similar, it could just be that they are all speaking of one and the same event - simply attributing it to their gods and giving different interpretations as a result - but there may only be the one story, shared by many nations. After all, if the Bible account about scattering of the builders due to confused languages is true, that would have happened!

    Of course they're just myths.

The entire bible is a myth.
