Science Fair? 8th Grade?

So I have to participate in the 8th grade science fair. I have no idea for a project. I think it needs a hypothesis. I don't have time to grow plants or anything like that. I was thinking about making geodes, but what hypothesis could I get from that? I want to do something easy/short but not boring and difficult.

    Okay, so do the one where you figure out how many times a metal ball can tap the bottom of a quart jar before the jar breaks.
