Applying to West Point as an Enlisted?

Im a bit confused on it. In highschool i did terrible (2.5 gpa), High SAT scores, with a few clubs,200 community hours, and go swimming and tennis. I always wanted to go into west point and comission as an officer, but with my gpa, im afraid i wont be able to apply right after highschool.

What would be my best options/chances of getting accepted into west point with the fact that my highschool performance was subpar?? I was planning to join the National Guard or Active duty army for it. Also how can i increase my chances knowing its too late to improve HS performance? I am also going to attend college while in the military so i can have a 3.5+ gpa along with an rotc nomination also.

I think you are confused. The process for applying to West Point or any academy requires high grades, a nomination, and several other things that most candidates start as sophomores in high school. You can read the whole process on the school's website. As other have noted, it is theoretically possible to transfer to West Point from another university, but it doesn't happen often and you'd have to be acing your classes. Your chances of getting in via the enlisted are less than slim.

Your realistic options would be ROTC at a less selective university. The issue is that with our current high school GPA you may have trouble getting into ANY four-year university.

You are not getting in with your HS GPA.

Have you gone on the West Point web site and read through it? Transfer info is on the site.

You are just maintaining a C average in high school. How you you going to pull off A's at the university level? How are you going to get a high SAT score?

Find out facts direct from the source- West Point. If they do allow some active duty soldiers in, you can bet the competition extremly tough.

I would forget West Point. Just try to get into a decent four year university (your GPA will limit your option) and join ROTC while an undergrad.
