What officer is best for a long-term career?

    What kind of officer

  • Nazi Germany military branches and US military branches comparison?

I was doing research on each military branch of nazi germany and america today, and i was wondering if this matched each branch correctly. As i am aware, the werhmacht had 3 branches, which was the heer, kreigsmarine, and luftwaffle. So equating that to the U.S. today would be

    Heer=U.S. Army (the ground force)

    Kreigsmarine=U.s. navy (the ocean force)

Luftwaffle= u.s. Air Force (fight in air)

Waffen SS= marine corps (both are considered the countries most prideful/warriorlike)

Is this an accurate evaluation between military branches?

Is the waffen SS/Marine equal each other?

Which would you consider the most important for projecting power?

  • Enlisted National guard AND Marine PLC?

Is this a possible option to enlist in the national guard (as a junior in HS) and when you go to college.aplly and get accepted into doing PLC for the marine corps, so you can later on comission as an Active duty Marine officer? I really wish to know if its a realistic option.

  • Enlist in USMC and then ROTC?

I am a 17 year old guy, Since i performed badly in highschool (2.0 gpa), i am planning to enlist in the Marine Corps active duty (4 years) and then afterwards go to community college as a prior enlisted and do NROTC in it (Tallahassee community college offers it in a conjunction with FAMU), while then going to FAMU (Florida A&M uni) to do my other 2 years, thus far getting a comission as a naval officer. Is this a solid/realistic plan for a military career? I love the marines and the navy, so I thought of doing first marines then navy. Or is it better to just do nrotc?

Please no rude comments, blunt, goose, and any others should seriously learn manners and discipline themselves.

  • Im 5'9 with 117 pounds, wanting to gain weight/muscle advice?

Hey guys so im a 17 year old guy, and i have been trying my best to work out as hard as i can go enlist in the Marine Corps as fit as i can possibly be. But for that height, i need my goal to be around 130-150 pounds. I also have super mass gainer (1900 calories per serving) so i can drink two servings per day and gain one pound, but my parents rarely ever cooks for me,and if they do the meals turn out really bad, so the source of food is very rare from them.

Also i am currently in planet fitness, so i really need to get a good idea on what to use to grow arm/upper body/lower body strength.

  • Is this a Good Reason for enlisting in Marine corps?

I am a 17 year old guy almost ready to live out a new world.

My reasons for enlisting is complicated. I want to join to serve my country and have a reputation as a soldier (its been something i always was passionate about since i was a kid.) When i started dating this girl for 2 years, during that time, she preety much discouraged me from joining because she wanted to be with me as much as i did. So i being the "in-love" idiot decided to drop the idea of my sense of militarism and concentrated on running my own business (took entrepreneurship/leadership classes, and did extremely well in them). I always felt interested in leadership positions, and with that came a sense of control and power, this affected my relationship.she broke up with me for terrible reasons (we both hated each other deeply afterwards and tried to hurt one another using out exs, ironically her ex is a marine, which makes me despise her even more).

I overall wanted to join the marine corps and do my time there as its something ive always been directing towards to. But now im not sure if its because of my ex i want to go. My sense of militarism came back and its more important to me than ever. She blocked me so i have no way of talking to her until a few days where we argued and she blocked me again. My other option was to go to a military college or do ROTC in my state University and go in as an army officer. What are your thoughts on the whole matter?

Sorry if this is a repeated question

  • Applying to West Point as an Enlisted?

Im a bit confused on it. In highschool i did terrible (2.5 gpa), High SAT scores, with a few clubs,200 community hours, and go swimming and tennis. I always wanted to go into west point and comission as an officer, but with my gpa, im afraid i wont be able to apply right after highschool.

What would be my best options/chances of getting accepted into west point with the fact that my highschool performance was subpar?? I was planning to join the National Guard or Active duty army for it. Also how can i increase my chances knowing its too late to improve HS performance? I am also going to attend college while in the military so i can have a 3.5+ gpa along with an rotc nomination also.

  • Getting accepted into Virginia Military Institute chances?

I am a junior in a college prepatory highschool (one of the best) in Florida. But i am worried i wont get accepted into VMI because of my low gpa. My goal is to comission in the army as an officer through ROTC. I have a terrible gpa due to personal issues (depression in freshman, breakup in junior). But i am very confident in getting a high test scores and excell in other areas. If i applied with the following, would i have somewhat of a chance to get accepted right after highschool? I really am serious about this as i have ambitious goals in life, and that includes becoming an officer in the army.

    1. 2.3 gpa (not good at all)

2.200 community hours in library, church, hospital ect...

    3.Nearly perfect SAT/ACT scores (1550/32)

4.been to clubs such as FBLA, Japanese culture club, and chess club.

5.Have taken honors classes throughout my Highschool along with one/two AP Classes.

6.sports is not my strong area either, but i do work out and am physcially fit, along with Swimming and playing Tennis

7.I have leadership potential, with business/History/Politics as my favorite subjects.

8.i can get reccomendations from 2 teachers and try to write an essay regarding my potential.

    9.Great public speaking

Do you perosnally think my gpa would instantly deny my chance of getting accepted?

  • During the civil war, what was considered "The West Point of the Confederacy"?

I was curious because back then very well known confederate generals such as robert e lee came from USMA (which is where im also trying to get into). But i have been reading about the senior military colleges such as Virginia Military Institute and The Citadel, and they both have a rich history in the south.

So my question really is, what would of been the Confederate's Central/Main version of West Point?

Imo i believe the Citadel can take thatt place somewhat, but id like to hear others Input on it.

  • Transferring to VMI or the citadel from Community college?

Is it a good idea to do so? Especially assmuning you had a low gpa in highschool (2.3) but a 3.9 gpa in college in your first year?? I live in florida, so its out of state and will cost much.i was planning to major in business and administration, but also to go to ROTC and comission as an army officer. I also am wondering, do you technically start as a "Rat", or do you start as a sophmore/junior? I really would like to be in it.
