Certainly, for almost 60 years now and until forever. It's why I will go to Bible Study this morning and pour through the Word with other believers. Incidentally, our passage today is John 3:1-16. If you've never become a Christian, it describes how to be born again. I highly recommend it.

I can go to any library and find a Bible.

    I accept it exists.

Right next to the Bible, is The Lord of the Rings.

    I also accept IT exists.

I am fairly sure that the information in both of them are made up stories.

The Holy Scriptures, the inspired Word of Jehovah, acknowledged as the greatest book of all times because of its antiquity, its total circulation, the number of languages into which it has been translated, its surpassing greatness as a literary masterpiece, and its overwhelming importance to all mankind. Independent of all other books, it imitates no other. It stands on its own merits, giving credit to its unique Author. The Bible is also distinguished as having survived more violent controversy than any other book, hated as it is by many enemies.

I believe in the Bible as a "plea" that was made 1,600 to 1,700 years ago.

The bible was written in a vital and desperate attempt to bring those of the Jewish Faith

who actually did endeavor to believe in the Jesus saga of his really having been ‘the messiah',

away from the possibility of being re-absorbed into their native Judaism, and its faith and beliefs.

By including familiar lifestyles, places, and events of the time, the writers of the bible

could then take extensive license in adding a hero or 'savior' to the mix, and promote this

mostly unknown character of nearly 300 years prior, to a standard that was beyond mortal reproach.

To suppose that the bible is factual in any way, or succumb to the subtle duplicity which was aimed at

changing the minds of the naive and unsuspecting people of the time, would be an erroneous thing to do

since the story ended long ago, and those who might have filtered back into Judaism are long since passed.

Christianity was never a final “intention” of the bible … creating a chasm within the Jewish Faith, was.
