Would Halo be an okay game for a 13 year old to play?
My son wants to get the Halo Master Chief collection for his bday. But I'm not sure if I should buy it because it's M rated. I don't know much about the game. Opinions?

there are some swears, if you don't mind that it should be fine......... most of the "blood" is purple and comes form aliens......... i would probably have him steer clear from playing online, but with friends in the same room it should be fine (like the good old days).........

Halo has death and gore (blood), so I would assume if you are alright with your son watching M rated movies such as (as mentioned above) Alien and Aliens, then go ahead. If not, maybe a more PG game would be better for him.

I guess it's okay. But tell him metroid prime is a much better game, he should play that instead.

Usually in the game options they have settings that let you turn off foul language and excessive gore. If I remember right Halo really doesn't have foul language, Definitely no Nudity and gore isn't bad. Only rated M because of violence. I recommend it.

I'm not really sure why the Halo games are "M".
Sure, you go around shooting up aliens, and sometimes other humans but the violence isn't very graphic or realistic.
Overall if you're OK letting your son watch the movies, Alien and Aliens, he should be able to handle the content and storylines in the Halo games.
For online play, I suggest limiting him to only his classmates and local friends.
