No guarantees either way about ANY of them. I imagine there might even be members of the family who might switch to SUPPORT the movement once it got going.

The last Chinese emperor ended up as a low-level officeholder and member of the Communist Party, put in charge of a museum set up at his old palace, if I recall correctly.

The most famous American radical was John Reed, author of "Ten Days That Shook The World" about the Soviet revolution, whose family were as bourgeois as you can get, wealthy bankers, in oil, and lumber, kind of like the West Coast version of the Rockefellers.

The Chamorro family In Nicaragua included henchmen of the dictator Somoza, leaders of the Sandinista revolutionaries, AND of the anti-Sandinista "Contras."

Royalism ain't in the BLOOD. Some might be reasonable.

But while I oppose execution for REGULAR criminals, any ADULT members former ruling classes, like royalty, (or slavers, in my home country the U.S.) SHOULD get the rope unless they PUBLICLY switch sides. (NOT CHILDREN)

I'll say the same when it comes time to deal with Wall Street or The City.

My way of thinking isn't even shared by all radicals, though, let alone others. American Trotskyist leader James Cannon mused aloud about how only the most directly-murderous capitalists would suffer after a socialist revolution. He wanted the others put in a living museum, a "Millionaire's Island," where they could live in mansions on estates like they always did, with actors hired to be servants, while schoolchildren toured the place and saw "How they used to live in the old days."

The possible variations are ENDLESS. A LEGAL transfer, or insurrectionary turmoil, overwhelming support, or factionalizing and civil war, peaceful, bloody, mixtures of any of these, or even of all of them.

The point is to DO it.

I suspect they would actually be lined up against a wall.

In the 20th century, several monarchies were abolished. Most of these events did not involve execution of any members of the royal families in question.

The massacre of the Russian imperial family is famous, but that's partly because it was unusual.

All of them, there's no such thing as capital punishment now.
