grabbing the barrel of a rifle to disarm someone...?

I m not at all familiar with guns... rifle or otherwise. But let s say someone has a semi-automatic rifle of some sort. If you grab the barrel when they re pointing it at you, to push it away and disarm them, would it burn your hands when it goes off? Or is there a moving part on the barrel of a rifle that would hurt you? I know handguns have sliders that might pinch you, but I don t know about rifles...

Don't worry about one shot. Better a little burn than getting shot.

And the bolt handle on a semi auto rifle will be back just ahead of the shooter;'s eye. You will be far away from it.

Yes, it comes back and can clobber you If your hand is right there.

    But it wont be.

the barrel of a gun fired once is not hot, so you would not burn your hands.

Gun barrels get very hot. Not just hot enough to burn you. Hot enough so that the gun won't work right until the barrel cools. In the military, they have extra barrels so that (in battle) they can change barrels and use one barrel to keep shooting while the other cools. I think it would be better to have extra guns, so that they don't have to stop shooting while they switch barrels. However, they are trained to do it very quickly.
