Gender is a mass noun. There is gender and its diverse. There are no discrete "genders", so the answer is one or zero.

Gender is debatable and I don't have a formed or solid opinion on it, so:
The primary sexualities are heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual and asexual. If non-binaries are a legitimate thing, however, the sexuality spectrum broadens to things like androsexual, gynesexual, polysexual, pansexual, etc.

Genders: 3 - male, female, intersex (hermaphrodites)
There's male (born with XY chromosomes; naturally has a penis and testicles), female (born with XX chromosomes; naturally has a vagina, ovaries and breasts) and hermaphrodites are born with abnormal chromosomes (e.g. XXY) with a mixture of characteristics from both genders (e.g. a vagina hole with small testicles, usually rendering them infertile).
Sexualities: 8+ - Hetereosexual, Homosexual, Bisexual, Pansexual, Asexual, Pedophile, Zoophile, Necrophile, Other
Heterosexuals desire sexual relations with the opposite sex, homosexuals desire the same sex and bisexuals desire both. Pansexuals experience attraction but it isn't defined by gender or identity. Asexuals don't experience sexual attraction to anything. Pedophiles experience attraction to children (they can also be hetero/homo/bi), zoophiles are attracted to animals and necrophiles desire sexual contact with corpses. There's then other rare unclassified orientations like attraction to cars (it really exists).
People can thumb this down, but I'm a scientist and am impartial on the topic.
