What is the meaning of this scripture in Ephesians 5 and how do we as Christians apply it to our life?
Ephesians 5:20
always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;

I take it to mean that we should thank God each and every day for all his blessings, and even when we face difficulties and hardship, to lift our eyes to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, for what he did to save sinners such as us.
It reminds us that all good gifts come from above and we should be glad to approach the throne of grace, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to bring our petitions and our praise to the glory of God the Father.
To pray in the name of Jesus means to pray in faith, trusting in him as our mediator with God the Father on the throne of grace (John 14:6; Hebrews 4:16; 10:20).

Pretty clear. We don't know the meaning of things, the future.
We are within Christ, so He is leading and knows what He is doing.
So, we are thankful.
This sometimes will be the 'sacrifice of praise'. And others see this,
and sometimes they change when they see us not letting circumstance
get us down.
