Well, it seems to me that your friend has got you weighed up very well. Your friend knew you would believe the answer and go checking. A giraffe is a species of mammal. All mammals, except monotremes, are viviparous. That means they give birth to live young. They are not oviparous, which means laying eggs.

Giraffes do not lay eggs. yhe give birth to baby giraffe that grows up to become adult. Your friend is silly.
