my friend says there are no such things as baby giraffes?

he says they just emerge from the eggs that the parents lay in the river, full grown.

All mammals, except monotremes, are viviparous. That means they give birth to live young. They are not oviparous, which means laying eggs.

    Giraffes do not lay eggs. yhe give birth to baby giraffe that grows up to become adult. Your friend is silly.
