If Jesus died for our sins, then why do we still have to get punished for the sin of not believing in Jesus?

For God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son so whomsoever believes in him might not Parrish but have everlasting life.

If you drowning and I toss you an inflatable vest or float my gift of Life to you will do you no good unless you put some air in the hole or pull the cord!

I'm sorry Charlie but if someone dies to save you and leaves you the tools to survive if you don't use them you deserve to die!

You have the right to believe what you want to, be it does not change the fact that Jesus die for your sin. And he will not punish you for not believing in him but you will not get everlasting life in a paradise earth. He came to teach us about how we can get closer to God.

How does sin affect a person’s relationship with God?

1 John 3:4, 8: “Everyone who practices sin is also practicing lawlessness, and so sin is lawlessness. He who carries on sin originates with the Devil.” (How forceful this is! Those who deliberately choose a course of sin, making a practice of it, are viewed by God as criminals. The course they have chosen is the one that Satan himself first took.)

Rom. 5:8, 10: “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. . . . When we were enemies, we became reconciled to God through the death of his Son.” (Notice that sinners are referred to as enemies of God. How wise, then, to avail ourselves of the provision that God has made for reconciliation to him!)

1 Tim. 1:13: “I was shown mercy [says the apostle Paul], because I was ignorant and acted with a lack of faith.” (But when he was shown the right way by the Lord, he did not hold back from following it.)

2 Cor. 6:1, 2: “Working together with him, we also entreat you not to accept the undeserved kindness of God and miss its purpose. For he says: ‘In an acceptable time I heard you, and in a day of salvation I helped you.’ Look! Now is the especially acceptable time. Look! Now is the day of salvation.” (Now is the time when the opportunity for salvation is available. God will not forever extend toward sinful humans such undeserved kindness. So, care needs to be exercised in order that we do not miss its purpose.)

    A common misconception.

Who did Jesus die for? The common answer is "for everybody."

But this answer does not make any sense. That means either everybody is going to heaven when they die, or there will be some people in hell who's sins have already been paid for. This does not make any sense.

We call this the doctrine of "limited atonement."

Who did Jesus die for? He only paid the price for the sins of those people who would someday be redeemed. He died for everyone WHO would eventually accept Jesus.

Now you have to decide where you stand. Are you going to repent, turn from your evil ways, and follow Jesus? Or are you going to go your own way? THE DECISION IS YOURS.

What are you going to do?

When a gift is offered, it isn't yours until you accept it.

I was helping someone move a couple months back.

To ease their burden I took a hundred pounds on my back. As I waited at the elevator, completely oblivious of my suffering and ungrateful, they busied themselves with something irrelevant, ADDING to my burden. In that moment I saw they valued the irrelevant thing more than me.

Wrath boiled over from within me.

In that moment I understood - and I say 'good riddance' to you if you ignore the precious gift God gave us.

"Our" only applies to those who chose to believe and follow
